Bejt Josef ( Hebrew בֵּית יוֹסֵף; English Beit Yosef ) is a moshaw at Bejt She'an , Emeq ha-Ma'ajanot . The place was founded in 1937 as a tower-and-palisade settlement during the Arab uprising (1936-1939). In 1947 over 200 people lived there. It was abandoned during the war for Israel's independence in 1948, but re-established in 1951 by Kurdish and Iraqi Jews. It was named after Josef Aharonowitsch , an important figure of the Avoda . In 2018 Bejt Josef had 460 inhabitants.
