Ben Lomond is a mountain range and ski resort in northeast Tasmania . At 1572 m , its highest peak, Legges Tor , is Tasmania's second highest mountain. The mountain range is located east of Launceston in Ben Lomond National Park . Apart from Ben Lomond, Tasmania also has a ski area on Mount Mawson .
The ski village on a plateau can be reached via Launceston. The area with numerous paths is suitable for hiking tourism in summer. The ski area can be reached via the unpaved road known as Jacobs Ladder because of its serpentines .
The name comes from Mount Ben Lomond in Scotland .
