Selwyn Snowfield is the northernmost ski area at an altitude between 1492 and 1614 meters. The longest run at 800 meters is the Long Arm Run . The ski area comprises 45 km of marked routes. The ski area is suitable for beginners and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. The Racecourse Run slope requires advanced skiing.

The ski season lasts from June to September. With low snowfall are snow machines used. The snowfall can be considerable. In 1981, for example, a snow depth of 360 cm was measured in the Snowy Mountains in the Cooma area .

The ski area can be reached on the Snowy Mountains Highway from Talbingo in the west and Adaminaby in the east.
