Mount Hotham is a volcanic mountain in Victoria , Australia . Mount Hotham Village and Mount Hotham Ski Resort are located on the mountain . The mountain is located approximately 357 kilometers northeast of Melbourne , 746 kilometers from Sydney and 997 kilometers from Adelaide . Mount Hotham reaches a summit height of 1,861 meters above sea level. The village of Mount Hotham is located at 1750 meters, making it the second highest holiday village in Australia after the Charlotte Pass village.
Winter sports
The Mount Hotham holds the annual records of the highest snowfall in Victoria in recent years. Skiing takes place on one side of the great valley that connects the area with the Bogong High Plains .
The Mount Hotham ski area covers 3.2 square kilometers with 35 kilometers of ski runs and 13 lifts. The longest ski run on Mount Hotham is 2.5 kilometers. The winter sports area has downhill runs for skis and snowboards, 20% of which are suitable for beginners, 40% for experienced and 40% for advanced. The most difficult downhill run in Australia is located in the area on Mary's Slide .
