Ben Mark Starosta (born January 7, 1987 in Sheffield , England ) is a Polish football player . He also has a British passport.

Club career

Starosta learned to play football at Sheffield United . For the 2005/06 season he came to the first team, but was not used. In the following years Starosta was loaned to lower-class teams such as Tamworth FC , Brentford FC , Bradford City or Aldershot Town in order to collect match practice. At the end of 2008 he was loaned to the Polish first division club Lechia Gdańsk , where he played the first half of the 2008/09 season. For the second half of the season he came back to Sheffield United. In the summer of 2009 he left the club for Darlington FC . After six months he moved to Alfreton Town and in May 2010 to Australia in the Victorian Premier League to Dandenong Thunder . From January to July 2011 he was without a club before the Polish third division club Miedź Legnica signed him. In the summer of 2012 he rose to the second division with the club , but his contract was terminated early in late August 2012. At the end of January 2013, Starosta signed a contract with the champions of the Philippine United Football League , Global FC . Here he was used regularly and was Filipino champion with the club in 2014. For the second half of the 2014/2015 season he moved back to England in the Conference National to Nuneaton Town FC. Since he left six months later, he has only been active in lower-class clubs.

National team

Although Starosta had made a few appearances for England's U-15 national team, he decided to play for the Polish association and made five appearances for Poland's U-20 national team . He took part with Poland in the 2007 Junior World Cup in Canada .
