Benedikt Bachmeier

Benedikt Bachmeier (born February 9, 1852 in Kleinhaarbach ; † June 30, 1912 in Mitterhaarbach ) was a landowner and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Bachmeier attended elementary school in Tettenweis from 1858 to 1864 . He then served three years with the 1st Cuirassier Regiment in Munich . From 1886 he was an independent farmer in Mitterhaarbach. He was also second chairman of the agricultural district association Griesbach and a member of the same district council committee, as well as a member of the Lower Bavarian district administrator.

From 1893 to 1907 and from January 1912 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Niederbayern 4 ( Pfarrkirchen , Eggenfelden , Griesbach ) and the Bavarian Farmers' Union (BB) . In the Reichstag election in 1893, Bachmeier had undertaken to support the center's position in church matters , whereupon he was elected from the predominantly agrarian constituency against the center candidate with 75% of the valid votes cast. Between 1893 and 1904 he was also a member of the Bavarian state parliament .

His son Benedikt Bachmeier was also active for the Bauernbund and was a member of the Weimar National Assembly from 1919 and then a member of the Reichstag until 1928.
