André and Benedikt Bugner

André Bugner (born October 8, 1994 ) and Benedikt Bugner (born August 4, 1996 ) have been part of a German art bike team since 2008 . The two brothers start for the RSV 1921 Klein-Winternheim and are four-time world champions in 2-man art driving in the open class (2013-2016).

Sporty vita

They achieved their first major international success in 2011 at the junior indoor cycling European championship in Höchst ( Austria ) when they won the European championship. In 2011 they also won the German Junior Championships in Duderstadt , the Junior Masters, and set a new junior world record with 146.60 points in the 2-person junior open class.
In the following year, the two athletes repeated winning the European Junior Championship in Ghent ( Belgium ) and defended their German championship title and winning the Junior Masters series. The brothers also managed to increase the junior world record to 153.45 points and set a German record with 162.25 points.

André and Benedikt Bugner have been competing in the elite class since 2013. At the indoor cycling world championships in 2013 in Basel ( Switzerland ), the brothers won their first world championship. In addition, the two were able to win the German Masters and secure the German championship title in Baunatal . In addition, they set four new world records and were voted Team of the Year 2013 of the RLP State Sports Association.

At the indoor cycling world championships in 2017 , they won the silver medal in November 2017. In April 2018, Benedikt Bugner sustained an ankle injury in a friendship competition.
