Benjamin Jonas

Benjamin Jonas (born February 22, 1990 in Berlin ) is a former German athlete who was particularly active in the 400-meter run .

Benjamin Jonas started at LG Nike Berlin , later he started for LG Eintracht Frankfurt and was trained there by Volker Beck . The then police commissioner candidate made it nationally for the first time in 2011 in the U23 championships with the third place over 400 meters and with the 4 x 400 meter relay as a runner-up on the podium at outdoor championships, in the hall he reached the runner-up in 2009. He achieved his personal best in 400 meters of 46.81 s in 2011, which was also the Hesse U23 record. Internationally, he was fifth in his semi-finals at the 2007 Junior World Championships in Ostrava . Two years later he won the silver medal at the U20 European Championships in the 2009 season, and in 2011 Jonas was fifth in the season. He won the bronze medal with the German team at the European team championships in Bergen in 2011 . At the German Championships in 2012 in Wattenscheid , he came in fifth and thus missed by one place qualifying for Germany's 4 x 400 meter relay at the 2012 Olympic Games in London . However, as Niklas Zender , who was fourth in front of him, injured himself before the games, Jonas replaced him in the German squad. However, it was not used. Jonas ended his active career after the 2015 season.
