Benjamin Munz

Benjamin Munz (born November 10, 1983 in Ludwigsburg , Baden-Württemberg ) is a German film producer and author .

Life

Benjamin Munz spent his childhood in Ludwigsburg , Baden-Württemberg , where he attended the August-Lämmle- Grundschule in Oßweil from 1991 to 1995 , then the Mörike- Gymnasium Ludwigsburg until 2000, followed by the Robert-Franck- Schule until 2003 his training as an advertising specialist in Stuttgart, he began as a camera assistant , manager and assistant director to work for commercials, music videos and students production. In the following years he helped with the production of international commercials and worked, among other things, for the advertising film production company SpyFilms in Toronto . In 2006, Munz began studying production at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy .

The Second World War film Anzhelina, produced by him and directed by Martin Schreier, is still considered to be one of the most elaborate first-year films at a film school.

His short film The Night Father Christmas Died , again by director Martin Schreier, was nominated in 2010 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as the only German film for a student Oscar . The film won other awards at international film festivals .

In 2009 he received the Hollywood Scholarship from the Baden-Württemberg State Foundation and completed the Hollywood Workshop at UCLA in Los Angeles . For his diploma at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy, he produced Germany's first zombie web series Viva Berlin in 2011 . Munz came up with the idea together with director Moritz Mohr and author Benjamin Karalic . He produced five episodes of the series in just two months. The actors include Jens Atzorn , Sina Tkotsch , Ralph Herforth and Alissa Jung .

With Manége Magique directed by Viola Baier, she produced a small animated film that was named the main trailer of the International Animated Film Festival 2010 in Stuttgart and will be presented at the SIGGRAPH in Vancouver.

Benjamin Munz is currently working as a producer at Rat Pack Filmproduktion under Christian Becker . Since June 2011 he has headed their branch, the Rat Pack South West in Ludwigsburg. His first feature-length film, Tape_13 , in which Axel Stein also worked as a director behind the camera for the first time, celebrated its world premiere as a Midnight Movie at the 2014 Berlinale in the Perspective German Cinema section .

The shooting of his second international feature film STUNG with Lance Henriksen and Clifton Collins jr. began starring in October 2013.
