Benoît Lamy (born September 19, 1945 in Arlon , Province of Luxembourg , Belgium ; † April 15, 2008 in Braine-l'Alleud , Province of Walloon Brabant , Belgium) was a Belgian film director and screenwriter . Lamy had his international breakthrough in 1973 with the cult comedy Sweet Home . The film won 14 international awards, including the Best Picture Award at the Montreal Festival and the Jury Award at the Moscow Film Festival . With his works Ardenner Schinken and Der Mann im Lift , he created little attention-grabbing successes without being able to build on the success of his debut with them.
