Benthamiella chubutensis is a plant type from the genus Benthamiella in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).

description

Benthamiella chubutensis is a Chamaephyte , the leaves of which are 6 to 13 (rarely only 5) mm long and about 1.5 mm wide. The base of the leaves is widened, the edge of the basal area is hairy with simple or branched trichomes . The calyx is tubular, 5 to 7 mm long and is hairy on the outside and on the edge. The crown is 11 to 13 mm long, tubular and is covered with glandular trichomes on the outside, especially in the upper area. The five stamens are of the same shape and do not protrude beyond the crown. The stamens are widened and hairy at the base, they start in the lower third of the corolla tube. The ovary has a visible nectarium , the stylus does not protrude beyond the crown.

distribution

The species is common in Patagonia and only known from a single collection from Chubut .

The species was first described by Alberto Soriano in 1948 .
