history

The place was probably created in the first third of the 19th century and appears for the first time unlabeled on the Prussian first recording from 1844. In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province , a house with six residents is given for 1885. At that time the place belonged to the rural community Neuhückeswagen within the Lennep district .

From 1890, more houses were built in Bergerhöhe on the other side of the municipality. The eastern part of the village still belonged to the Neuhückeswagen community, the western part to the mayor's office, Fünfzehnhöfe . In 1895, the Neuhückeswagen part of the village owned a house with four residents, while the Fünfzehnhöfen part had a house and four residents.

In 1905 there was a residential building and four residents in the Neuhückeswagen part, one residential building and six residents in the fifteenhöfen part.

In 1906 the mayor's office was incorporated into the town of Lennep, which in turn was incorporated into Remscheid in 1929, along with the Fünfzehnhöfen part of Bergerhöhe. In the course of the North Rhine-Westphalian municipal area reform (§ 21 Düsseldorf Law ), the eastern area around Bergisch Born with the Neuhückeswagen part of Bergerhöhe was separated from the city of Hückeswagen on January 1, 1975 and also incorporated into the city of Remscheid.
