The Olpe mining area was part of the Bonn Mining Authority .

The Bergrevier Olpe had an extension of 560.66 km² and included the Olpe district with the exception of the parts of the former offices of Bilstein and Kirchhundem on the right bank of the Lenne , as well as of the Meschede district the parts of the former Serkenrode office on the left bank of the Lenne . It was delimited as follows: Towards the north by the border between the districts of Olpe and Altena , as well as Meschede and Altena to the Lenne and then through the Lenne from Rönkhausen up to the border of the district of Olpe above the village of Lenne; towards the northeast and east through the border of the Olpe district towards the Meschede, Wittgenstein districts or the Wittgenstein-Berleburg district and the Siegen district ; towards the south through the border of the district of Olpe towards the district of Siegen and the administrative district of Koblenz or the state lordship of Wildenburg ; towards the west through the border of the district of Olpe towards the administrative district of Cologne and the district of Altena or the border between the former Duchy of Westphalia and the county of Mark , but excluding the municipality of Valbert , which is part of the Oberbergamtsiertel Dortmund .
