The Berlin was an icebreaker , built in 1889. The steamship ran under the flags of the German Empire and the FRG .

The ship was launched on December 24, 1889 at the Stettiner Maschinenbau AG Vulcan shipyard in Stettin for the Stettin Chamber of Commerce and Industry . The icebreaker was approved by the Society Dampfschiffs JF Braeunlich Szczecin bereedert and was on the Baltic Sea used. At the end of the Second World War he was initially decommissioned in Kiel in 1945 . The ship was put back into operation in 1947 by the Hamburg Sea Water Authority and in 1949 became the property of the Nordmeer-Reederei Hamburg . After their bankruptcy in 1951, they were sold for scrapping.
