Bernard Pruski

Bernard Pruski (born November 13, 1929 in Strzyzno ; † January 30, 2018 in Stargard ) was a Polish cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

Pruski started cycling in 1948 in Stargard in a race for beginners. From 1953 he was a member of the Polish national team. At the International Peace Race he finished fifth in his first start in 1957 , making him the best Pole (in 1959 he drove the race again). He also achieved this placement in the Tour of Yugoslavia of the same year. In 1959 and 1960 he won the Polish team time trial championship .

Professional

After his active career, Pruski worked as a coach in cycling. In the 1960s, he began training young drivers. In the 1970s he was the coach of the Austrian national team for road cycling and took part in the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich .
