Bernard Schilling
Bernard Schilling SVD (born October 2, 1914 in Somborn ; † February 11, 1998 ) was Apostolic Vicar of Goroka .
Life
Bernard Schilling joined the Congregation of the Divine Word Missionaries in and received on 14 September 1947, the sacrament of Holy Orders .
On December 19, 1959, Pius XII appointed him . the titular bishop of Callipolis and ordered him for the first Vicar Apostolic of Goroka . The Archbishop of Cologne , Josef Cardinal Frings , donated him episcopal ordination on March 19 of the following year ; Co- consecrators were Adolf Bolte , Bishop of Fulda , and Leo Clement Andrew Arkfeld SVD, Apostolic Vicar of Wewak . On 22 January 1960 it appointed Pope to the Apostolic Administrator of Lae .
He attended all the sessions of the Second Vatican Council . Bernard Schilling resigned as Bishop of Ruteng on November 15, 1966.
