Bernardino Zapponi

Bernardino Zapponi (born September 4, 1927 in Rome , † February 11, 2000 there ) was an Italian writer and screenwriter .

Life

Zapponi first worked as a critic for La Repubblica and began writing for L'Espresso and the satirical magazine Marc'Aurelio . He wrote numerous radio, television shows and variety programs before becoming a successful screenwriter for films. He often worked with Federico Fellini .

He started his own magazine, Il delatore , wrote plays and published prose. He was nominated for an Oscar for the script for Fellini's Casanova ; In 1982 he received the Nastro d'Argento for Il Marchese del Grillo . A film award was also named in honor of Zapponi.
