Bernardo Fey Schneider

Bernardo Leonardo Fey Schneider CSsR (born February 25, 1910 in Kleinrosseln , Lorraine , German Empire ; † October 20, 1989 ) was a Roman Catholic religious and bishop of Potosí in Bolivia .

Life

Bernardo Fey Schneider joined the Congregation of the Redemptorists in, put on 8 September 1929, the profession , and received on 4 August 1935, the priestly ordination .

Pope Pius XII appointed him on July 9, 1952 auxiliary bishop in Potosí and titular bishop of Philadelphia Minor . The Apostolic Nuncio in Bolivia , Archbishop Sergio Pignedoli , donated him episcopal ordination on September 7th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Sucre , Josef Clemens Maurer CSsR, and the Bishop of Potosí, Cleto Loayza Gumiel .

On July 28, 1956, he was appointed Coadjutor Bishop of Potosí. He participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a council father.

With the death of Cleto Loayza Gumiel on December 30, 1968, he followed this as Bishop of Potosí. Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation on May 21, 1983.
