The Diocese of Potosí was on November 11, 1924 by Pope Pius XI. built with the Apostolic Constitution Praedecessoribus Nostris from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of La Plata o Charcas . It is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Sucre as a suffragan .
