Bernardo Pericás Neto

Bernardo Pericás Neto (born November 16, 1948 in Madrid ) is a Brazilian diplomat .

Life

Bernardo Pericãs Neto is the son of the son of Rachel S. Mota Pericás and Bernardo Duran Pericás. In 1962 he completed the Curso de Preparação à Carreira de Diplomata of the Rio Branco Institute and in January 1964 was later appointed Secretary of the Third Class. A year later he graduated from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro with a degree in law .

This was followed in June 1980 as envoy second class and in June 1984 as envoy first class. From June 27, 1989 to December 24, 1993 he represented the Brazilian government at the Organization of American States and chaired the permanent council of the OEA in 1992.

Subsequently, Neto was transferred to Brussels as ambassador until December 16, 1997 , from where he was also responsible for Luxembourg from January 17, 1995 . He then took over the Embassy in Asunción until December 21, 2001, and headed the Brazilian Commission for the Aid of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries in the final year of his service . He then represented the Brazilian government at Mercosur and the Asociación Latinoamericana de Integración in Montevideo until January 23, 2007 . Finally, Neto was used from January 23, 2007 to July 15, 2010 as ambassador in Havana and in Saint John's (Antigua and Barbuda) .
