Márcio Paulo de Oliveira Dias (born April 19, 1938 in Florianópolis ) is a former Brazilian diplomat .

Life

Márcio Paulo de Oliveira Dias is the son of Alcione Oliveira Dias and Wilmar Dias. He graduated from the CPCD of the Rio Branco Institute and was appointed Secretary of the Third Class on October 5, 1963, Second Class on December 31, 1966, and First Class on January 1, 1973.

From 1967 to 1969 Dias headed the Setor de Promoção Comercial (SECOM commercial agency) in New York City and was then transferred to Sydney as consul until 1971 . After that, he got to 1972 to be used as legation secretary of second class in Stockholm , where he in 1972 for financial support was made, and from 1973 to 1975 as secretary of legation first class and Affaires in Algiers . In 1975 he conducted negotiations in Lima and Santiago de Chile for the supply of copper to Brazil.

After working as chargé d'affaires in Kingston (Jamaica) , Dias was appointed consul general in Buenos Aires from 1981 to 1986 . In the following years he was given the office of ambassador, first from August 30, 1991 to November 13, 1995 in Cairo, where he was also responsible for Khartoum from October 30, 1996 , then from August 28, 1995 in Asunción and finally from December 17, 1997 to December 5, 2001 in Brussels, where he was also appointed Ambassador for Luxembourg on July 22, 1998.
