Rüschenbeck or Rutzenbeke is a district and a district of the municipality Stepenitztal in the district of Northwest Mecklenburg in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

Origin of name

The second name of the place Rutzenbeke describes the location of the place (rusch = binse, beke = brook).

history

The place consisted of two courtyards, on a larger, originally perhaps square, Anger. It was originally part of the extensive goods complex of Bülow, which owned a curia in Rutzenbeke . Remnants of an old castle complex "Neer'n Hoff" have been preserved in the area. Rüschenbeck was incorporated into Papenhusen in the 1950s and the Rüschenbeck district still exists.

On May 25, 2014, the place became part of the Stepenitztal municipality because Börzow , Mallentin and Papenhusen merged to form this.
