Location in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

Mallentin is a part of the municipality Stepenitztal in the district of Northwest Mecklenburg in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany).

Mallentin is located between Grevesmühlen and Dassow and is about 22 km from Lübeck . The village area on the lower reaches of the Stepenitz River is slightly hilly, with Roxin reaching its greatest height at 41 m above sea level.

The districts of Hof Mummendorf , Neu Greschendorf , Roxin and Schmachthagen belong to Mallentin .

In GDR times there was a cattle combine with over 2000 animals in Mallentin . A part of Mallentin was able to preserve its village character. In recent years, thanks to the favorable location on federal highway 105, an area with numerous commercial settlements has emerged.

The district of Roxin within a loop of the Stepenitz river has a few thatched-roof houses.

The Schönberg exit on federal motorway 20 is 11 km southwest of Mallentin. The next rail connection to Lübeck and Bad Kleinen is in Grieben .

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent communities of Roxin and Schmachthagen were incorporated.

On May 25, 2014 Mallentin merged with Börzow and Papenhusen to form the new municipality of Stepenitztal .
