Kirch Mummendorf is a district of the municipality Stepenitztal in the district of Northwest Mecklenburg in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1230 and 1234. Kirch Mummendorf was, as the name suggests, a church village. Although the village is on the Stepenitz , the villagers were forbidden to fish in the river until the beginning of the 20th century, as the Stepenitz as far as Börzow belonged to the sovereign territory of Lübeck. Only the monks were allowed to catch crabs there during their Lent.
On July 1, 1950, the previously independent communities of Hof Mummendorf and Tramm were incorporated.
Before the merger of the municipality Papenhusen with Börzow and Mallentin to form the municipality Stepenitztal on May 25, 2014, the place was part of the municipality Papenhusen.
