Bernd-Thomas Ramb

Bernd-Thomas Ramb (born November 6, 1947 in Kassel ) is a German economist , former politician ( BFB ) and author for new right media. He is an adjunct professor of economics at the University of Siegen and was a co-founder of the party Bund Freie Bürger - Offensive für Deutschland .

Life and academic background

Bernd-Thomas Ramb was born the son of the dentist Pius Ramb and his wife Irmgard Ramb (née Knauf) in Kassel, where he attended the Untereustadt elementary school and the Friedrichsgymnasium. After graduating from high school in 1966, he studied mathematics, physics and business administration at the Justus Liebig University in Gießen and at the Philipps University in Marburg . From 1970 he worked as a student trainee (most recently as a freelancer) and trained as a programmer and system analyst at the IBM Germany company in the Kassel office and in the application development department in Stuttgart. In addition to his studies, he worked as a freelance programmer and system analyst.

In 1973 he obtained his diploma in mathematics at the Philipps University of Marburg and became a research assistant to Artur Woll in the economics department at the University of Siegen. In addition, he received a lectureship in the Department of Economics at the University of Applied Sciences Gießen for statistics and operations research.

In 1976 he received his doctorate in economics (Dr. rer. Pol.) At the University of Siegen. In the same year he was press officer of the university and from 1984 to 1989 professor of economics and from 1991 onwards. His main research interests are: general economic policy, monetary theory and policy, European politics.

From 1986 to 1988 he took part in DFG research focus "Monetary Macroeconomics" and had from 1989 to 1993 in professors and visiting professorships at the University of Bochum , at the University of the State of Hesse, Kassel University, and at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz held . From 1990 to 1992 he received additional teaching assignments at the University of Transport “Friedrich List” in Dresden, at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf , at the University of Leipzig , at the Technical University of Merseburg and at the Technical University of Zittau.

Since 1993 he has been an independent business and asset advisor in Linden near Gießen. Ramb is chairman of the supervisory board of the Gesellschaft für Wirtschaftssysteme GWS AG, Kassel.

Political and social work

In 1994, Ramb, together with other economists, founded the right-wing populist party Bund Fre Bürger and was its deputy federal chairman and state chief in Hesse. He belonged to the small party until 1999. From 1996 to 2013 he was the business editor of the new right-wing weekly newspaper Junge Freiheit .

Ramb was also an author in the libertarian magazine peculiarly free , which is interwoven with the New Right , as well as in the Germany magazine of the association Die Deutsche Konservativen , in the Conservative German newspaper and gave an interview to the new right magazine Sezession .
