Bernd Johann Krämer (born July 22, 1947 in Berlin ) is a German computer scientist and professor emeritus of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at the FernUniversität in Hagen .

Life

Krämer studied electrical engineering and computer science at the Technical University of Berlin , where he did his doctorate under Hartmut Ehrig on the subject of Concepts, Syntax and Semantics of SEGRAS - A Specification Language for Distributed Systems . From 1974 to 1989 he worked as a scientist and project manager at the Institute for Software Technology of the Society for Mathematics and Data Processing . He then did research as an adjunct professor at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey (California) Monterey (California) in the field of software technology. From 1992 until his retirement in 2012 he was professor for data processing technology at the FernUniversität in Hagen. He was visiting researcher at Queensland University ( QUT ) in Brisbane, Monash University in Melbourne, UC Berkeley and Jiao Tong University in Shanghai.

Krämer conducts research in the fields of software technology and e-learning . In 2007 he founded the open access journal e-Learning and education , the main editor of which he was until 2012. He is a member of the editorial board of Springer magazine Innovations in Systems and Software Engineering . Krämer is a founding member, former president and member of the governing body of the transdisciplinary Society for Design and Process Science (SDPS) based in Texas, and he was a member of the first council of the distance university in Hagen . Since 2013 he has been a member of the Intelligent Education Networks expert group, which drafts status reports and recommendations for action for the National IT Summit .
