Bernd Kütscher

Bernd Kütscher (born July 5, 1968 in Mendig ) is a German master baker and business economist .

In April 2006, Kütscher was appointed director of the Federal College of the German Bakers' Trade in Weinheim by the Central Association of the German Bakers' Trade , today the Academy of German Bakers' Crafts in Weinheim , and in 2008 he was also the managing director of the German Bread Institute . He is the coach of the German National Bakers Team, founded in 2008, and the author of several specialist books.

As a bread expert, Bernd Kütscher was a member of the jury in the ZDF broadcast Germany's best baker in 2014, alongside Johann Lafer and Eveline Wild and in 2015 also in the ZDF TV garden and runs a very extensive bread blog. He participates in the jury of international baking competitions. In 2017, he was appointed jury president of their youth bakers' world championship by the bakers and confectioners world association UIBC. In July 2016, he was appointed by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture to the German Food Book Commission (DLMBK), which defines the principles in the German Food Book and thus the rules of the game for food production in Germany. As head of the Akademie Deutsches Bäckerhandwerk Weinheim , he initiated the Weinheimer Bread Language and, based on it, advanced training to become a bread sommelier . As the head of the German Bread Institute , he initiated the annual award of a bread of the year to underline the importance of bread as a cultural asset .
