Bernd Kirschner (* 1980 in Memmingen ) is a German artist .

biography

Bernd Kirschner was born in Memmingen in Upper Swabia and grew up in nearby Aitrach . He studied painting at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart . In 2006 he received his diploma in fine arts . He lives and works in Berlin . Between 2002 and 2004, Kirschner was awarded the Academy Award of the National Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart , in 2009 the prize of the city of Konstanz , 2011, the Beijing Studio Scholarship and in 2011 and 2013, the studio grant Künstlerhaus Edenkoben .

Works

Bernd Kirschner's painting is representational, borrowing from metaphysical and surrealist painting . Fantastic landscapes and groups of figures, which seem to be taken from mythology , predominate. His palette is greatly reduced and supports a basic mood of water, fog and haze.
