Bernd Steinacher

Bernd Steinacher (born December 18, 1956 in Nördlingen ; † September 25, 2008 in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim ) has been Regional Director of the Stuttgart Region Association since November 1994 .

From 1976 to 1982 he studied law in Würzburg , Lausanne and Tübingen and received his doctorate in law. The first professional positions were an assistant position at the chair for public law, international and European law at the University of Tübingen, a Tübingen law firm and the building law and regulatory office of the Zollernalbkreis district office in Balingen . From 1990 to 1994 he worked in the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg and as a parliamentary advisor to the CDU parliamentary group in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg. On November 30, 1994, he was elected regional director of the Stuttgart Region Association and confirmed by re-election on October 23, 2002. Steinacher was the spokesman for the Initiative Group of European Metropolitan Regions , President of Metrex (Network of European Metropolitan Regions and Areas) and Chairman of the Board of Trustees Forum der Kulturen Stuttgart e. V .

Bernd Steinacher died on September 25, 2008 in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim from rail suicide . He left behind his wife and a son.
