Bernd Ullrich (born June 29, 1962 ) is a former German handball referee . He belonged to the state association of Saxony-Anhalt and was a referee from 1974 to 2010. From 1990 to 2010 he was with his partner Frank Lemme in the DHB squad and had directed more than 550 DHB games. From 1994 to 2009 he was also in the EHF / IHF squad and had whistled over 180 international games. Lemme / Ullrich were voted the best referee team of the 2005/06, 2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons.

The referee team Lemme / Ullrich whistled u. a. the final of the 2005 Handball World Cup between Croatia and Spain and the men's final at the 2008 Olympics between France and Iceland.

On April 30, 2006, one day after Bernd Ullrich and Franke Lemme whistled the final second leg in the European Cup Winners' Cup between Medvedi Chekhov and BM Valladolid , a plastic bag with 50,000 US dollars was found in Bernd Ullrich's luggage  during a customs check at Moscow 's Sheremetyevo Airport confiscated. While Moscow had lost the game in Spain by seven goals, the team won the home game by eight goals and won the European Cup Winners' Cup. Ullrich stated that he did not know how the money got into his pocket and that he only realized what he was carrying when he was checked at the airport. Both referees reported the incident at customs almost three years late in early March 2009. As a first consequence, the German Handball Federation suspended the Lemme / Ullrich referee duo for the time being, and the European handball federation later banned them for five years.

On January 10, 2010, Bernd Ullrich and Frank Lemme announced their resignation as referees.
