Bernd Wilmert

Bernhard Peter Wilmert (born March 26, 1952 in Herten in the Ruhr area ) is a German economist and manager .

Life

After graduating from high school Petrinum Recklinghausen , Bernd Wilmert studied economics (Dipl.-Oec.) At the Ruhr University in Bochum . He then initially worked for municipal transport companies. a. in the Verkehrslandeplatz Loemühle GmbH Marl and as managing director of Vestische Straßenbahnen GmbH . After the fall of the Berlin Wall, he handled the legacy of the brown coal refining company ESPAG ( Black Pump) in Brandenburg as CFO .

From 1992 to June 2015 Bernd Wilmert was commercial director of Stadtwerke Bochum GmbH and its spokesman since 1993. In 1995 he founded USB Umweltservices Bochum GmbH and was commercial director there until 1998. Furthermore, since 1999 he has been managing director of the Holding for Supply and Transport GmbH Bochum (HVV) - which owns 95 percent of the shares in Stadtwerke Bochum GmbH and is in a one hundred percent control and profit transfer agreement with ewmr - Energie- und Wasserversorgung Mittleres Ruhrgebiet GmbH , where he in turn had been managing director and speaker since 1999. From 2010 to 2014, Bernd Wilmert was President of the European Federation of Local Energy Companies (CEDEC) and was voted Energy Manager of the Year 2011 by an independent jury in spring 2012 .

Bernd Wilmert is married and has a daughter. Wilmert is a member of the SPD .

criticism

In his function as managing director of Stadtwerke Bochum, he was in the context of the Atrium-Talk affair for the speaker fee of 25,000 euros for the participation of Peer Steinbrück in the Atriumtalk , an event of the Stadtwerke as part of their public relations work, in the public criticism. In this context, he explained to the Bochum City Council on November 9, 2012 that there had been omissions on his part and apologized for this. During a press conference on December 13, 2012 in Bochum Town Hall , Lord Mayor Ottilie Scholz announced that there had been serious errors in the allocation of events to media consultant Sascha Hellen by the board of Stadtwerke Bochum. In the course of the legal proceedings before the Bochum regional court on February 14, 2014, no agreement was reached between Hellen and Stadtwerke Bochum. The core of the discourse was the contractual situation for a concert planned for 2010 by Paul McCartney at the RuhrCongress Bochum . Hellen had received advances of 113,000 euros for this concert and not paid it back. According to Hellen, he had flown to London and handed part of the money in an envelope in cash to a liaison officer of Paul McCartney of Pakistani origin. The whereabouts of the money could not be clarified. Hellen attributed the failure of the concert to the negative press reports about the Stadtwerke affair in 2012.
