Bernhard Fibich

Bernhard Fibich (* 1962 in Vienna ) is an Austrian songwriter for children.

Career

Bernhard Fibich was born in 1962 in Vienna as the son of Elisabeth Fibich-Stillfried and the jazz musician Heinz Fibich . He spent his childhood in Vienna- Währing and in the Waldviertel . From 1968 to 1973 he first attended the De La Salle elementary school run by the Brothers of the Christian Schools in Vienna-Währing. He then attended the Marianum high school , which he graduated with the Matura in 1980. From the age of eight he took guitar lessons, initially at the Schmid-Zettelmann music school in Vienna. From 1978 to around 1990, Bernhard Fibich played in his father's band, the "Heinz Fibich Trio", as an electric bass player . They appeared at a wide variety of events such as balls, weddings or birthday parties. After military service in 1980 and 1981, he appeared on the talent show of the Austrian radio with his own song.

Bernhard Fibich has been writing full-time songs for children aged three to eleven since 1991 . Before that, he worked for several years as an AHS teacher and in teacher training . Children and adults are actively involved in his so-called “hands-on concerts”. His most famous CD Muff, the little teddy bear , achieved gold status in Austria. In 1986 Fibich was the winner of the “Pop-odrom”, the Austrian pop-rock competition for young talent at the time. In the same year he recorded his first solo long-playing record ("preliminary songs") and presented the songs in the Wiener Konzerthaus .
