Heinz Fibich (born April 10, 1936 in Vienna ; † March 25, 2011 there ) was an Austrian pianist , trumpeter and composer .

He had violin lessons from the age of six , spent three years with the Vienna Boys' Choir , studied piano at the Vienna Music Academy and privately trumpet. He played as a musician with almost all known Viennese jazz musicians of the late 1950s, had engagements as a trumpeter in German orchestras , American clubs and with Horst Winter . From 1962 Fibich played with his own ensemble in leading hotels in Germany and abroad (e.g. Hotel Imperial Vienna ) and on cruise ships operated by Hapag-Lloyd and the Holland-America Line . From 1978 he worked as a solo entertainer (pianist, organist and show master ) and had numerous appearances on radio and television . He also wrote radio plays for ORF and lectures on seafaring . Most recently, he was involved in the Inner City district museum in Vienna I for several years . He also performed as a clown .

Fibich died in 2011 and was buried in the Dornbacher Friedhof (3-13) in Vienna.
