Bernhard HF Taureck (born December 17, 1943 in Hildesheim ) is a German philosopher .

Taureck studied philosophy, German, Romance and Greek studies in Hamburg and Tübingen. In addition, he became interested in painting and theater at an early age. In 1972 he received his doctorate from the University of Tübingen with a dissertation on mathematical and transcendental identity . He became an assistant for philosophy at the University of Vienna . In 1986 he completed his habilitation at the University of Hamburg with a thesis on Nietzsche's alternatives to nihilism . From 1976 to January 2007 he taught German, philosophy, French and values ​​and norms at the Kaiser Wilhelm and Ratsgymnasium Hanover . He also wrote a philosophy curriculum in Lower Saxony. In addition, he was adjunct professor at the Technical University of Braunschweig and published since the eighties, especially the philosophy of Nietzsche , the French philosophy of the 20th century and for political philosophy . In 2004 Taureck published Metaphors and Parables in Philosophy as the first volume of a three-volume study. Since then, philosophical metaphorology has been at the center of his scientific work, taking literary , phenomenological and intellectual history aspects equally into account. His method is primarily hermeneutical . The inclusion of literary elements from all classical and new European world literature also plays an important role in his thinking .

Taureck advocates the idea of ​​an unconditional basic income in lectures and publications .

Taureck has three children and lives in Hanover .
