Bernhard Pellens

Bernhard Pellens (born November 17, 1955 in Geldern ) is a German economist .

Bernhard Pellens studied law and economics at the Universities of Cologne and Bochum from 1976 to 1981 . He worked as a research assistant at the Busse von Colbe chair until 1986 and then worked in controlling for a medium-sized company. The doctorate followed in 1988 and the habilitation in 1993 .

In 1993 he was a professor at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern , and from 1994 to 1997 he was a professor for international accounting at the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster. Since 1997 he has held the chair for international corporate accounting at the Ruhr University in Bochum.

Since 2001 he has been a full member of the North Rhine-Westphalia Academy of Sciences and the Arts .

In 2009 he received the Dr. Kausch price .

Pellens is Honorary Professor at Tongji University Shanghai . Numerous professorships in Germany for business administration and international corporate accounting such as Nils Crasselt, Joachim Gassen , Rolf Uwe Fülbier and Thorsten Sellhorn are former employees of Pellens.

Pellens turned down calls from the University of Bern, Essen and WHU to stay in Bochum. From 2012 to the end of 2018 he was Vice President of the Schmalenbach-Gesellschaft für Betriebswirtschaft and has been on the Supervisory Board of ThyssenKrupp AG since 2005, where he was temporarily Chairman of the Supervisory Board from the end of September 2018 to February 2019.
