Joachim Gassen

Joachim Gassen (* 1971 ) is a German economist and professor of business administration (BWL). He holds the chair for accounting and auditing at the Humboldt University in Berlin .

Life

Joachim Gassen obtained his degree in economics from the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster in 1995 .

He received his doctorate summa cum laude with Bernhard Pellens at the Ruhr University Bochum in 2000 . His dissertation was entitled "Database-Aided Accounting Disclosure. A Contribution to the Evolution of Accounting" .

Joachim Gassen completed his habilitation in 2006 at the Ruhr University Bochum.

In 2002 and 2003 he was a visiting scholar at New York University and the University of Wisconsin – Madison in the United States .

Joachim Gassen has held the Chair of Accounting and Auditing at the Humboldt University in Berlin since 2006.

  • 2012: Teaching Award of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Faculty of Business and Economics, best seminar in the academic year 2011/2012.
