Political career

Pohl has been a member of the Free Voters since 1989 and has been a member of the Kaufbeuren city ​​council since 1996 . He has been a parliamentary group spokesman there since 2008. From 2000 to 2009 he was a member of the state board of the Free Voters of Bavaria, from 2006 as deputy state chairman.

After running unsuccessfully for the Bavarian state parliament in 1998 and 2003 , he applied for the state election in September 2008 in the Kaufbeuren constituency and was elected to the state parliament for the free voters in the Schwaben constituency. In December 2015, he was sentenced to six months suspended prison sentence and a fine for drunk driving , and his driver's license was revoked for two years. Pohl then went into therapy.
