Bernhard Pohl
Bernhard Pohl (born November 13, 1964 in Werneck ) is a Bavarian politician of the Free Voters . The lawyer has been a member of the Kaufbeuren city council since 1996 and of the Bavarian state parliament since 2008 .
education and profession
Pohl attended the Jakob-Brucker-Gymnasium in Kaufbeuren and graduated from high school in 1984 . He then studied law in Munich and Geneva from 1984 to 1989 . In 1990 he did his military service . From 1990 to 1993 Pohl was a trainee lawyer and worked at the chair of constitutional lawyer Rupert Scholz at the University of Munich. In 1993 Pohl worked in the Thuringian Ministry of the Interior . Since 1994 he has been an attorney in the firm Pohl - Dr. Völsch - Zinner .

Political career
Pohl has been a member of the Free Voters since 1989 and has been a member of the Kaufbeuren city council since 1996 . He has been a parliamentary group spokesman there since 2008. In addition, he has been chairman of the Free Voting Association in Kaufbeuren since 2007. From 2000 to 2009 he was a member of the state board of the Free Voters of Bavaria, from 2006 as deputy state chairman.
After running unsuccessfully for the Bavarian state parliament in 1998 and 2003 , he applied for the state election in September 2008 in the Kaufbeuren constituency and was elected to the state parliament for the free voters in the Schwaben constituency. He is a member of the Committees for Constitutional Affairs, Legal Affairs, Parliamentary Issues and Consumer Protection and Local Affairs and Internal Security, as well as the commission for parliamentary support in crisis management at BayernLB . He was a member of the Landesbank investigation committee and a deputy member of the NSU investigation committee . In addition, he is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Sudeten German Foundation . Pohl is also a member of the Advisory Board of Trustees on the occasion of the extension of the Obersalzberg documentation.
From October 20, 2008 he acted as deputy chairman of his parliamentary group. He suspended this position from the end of July 2015 after Pohl drove a drunk car. As of 2005, Pohl had been convicted of several road traffic offenses; In 2006, Pohl caused an accident in which the driver of another vehicle was killed. In December 2015, he was sentenced to six months suspended prison sentence and a fine for drunk driving , and his driver's license was revoked for two years. Pohl then went into therapy.
Other offices
From 1995 to 2006 Pohl was president of the ice hockey club ESV Kaufbeuren .
