Bernhard Roos (born June 20, 1954 in Hacklberg , now part of Passau ) is a German SPD politician and was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament from 2008 to 2018 . From 1988 to 2008 he was the first authorized representative of IG Metall for the Passau administrative office and since 2009 he has been District Secretary of IG Metall, District Management Bavaria.

Career

After graduating from Adalbert Stifter Gymnasium in 1974, Roos passed the second state examination in law at Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich in 1985 .

After working for the Passauer Aktuellen Zeitung and as legal secretary of the DGB , Roos became union secretary of IG Metall in 1987 and a year later the first authorized representative of the Passau administration office.

In 1986 Roos joined the SPD. In 2003 he became a district board member of the SPD Niederbayern and from 2007 to 2009 a board member of the SPD Bavaria . He was also a board member of the DGB in the Donauwald region and a member of the supervisory board of ZF Passau GmbH from 1988 to 2011.

In 2008 Roos ran for the Bavarian State Parliament in the Passau-Ost constituency . Together with the result of the second vote, he was elected to the state parliament via the Lower Bavaria list. In 2013 he was re-elected to the Bavarian State Parliament via the list, now with the best result for the SPD in Lower Bavaria. There he was a member of the Committee on Economy and Media, Infrastructure, Construction and Transport, Energy and Technology . Roos was the spokesman for industrial and transport policy for his group. He no longer ran for the state election in 2018.

Awards

On February 1, 2019, he was awarded the Bavarian Constitutional Medal in silver.
