Bernhard Bruno Graf zu Solms-Laubach (born March 4, 1900 in Lich - Arnsburg , † March 13, 1938 in Berlin ) was a Hessian politician ( NSDAP ) and a former member of the Landtag of the People's State of Hesse in the Weimar Republic .

Bernhard zu Solms-Laubach was the second son of Otto Graf zu Solms-Laubach (* May 26, 1860 - September 9, 1904) and his wife Princess Emma von Isenburg-Büdingen-Büdingen (* August 28, 1870; † 13. December 1944). From his marriage to Louise Countess zu Castell-Rüdenhausen (* October 1, 1902, † August 25, 1986) four children were born:

  • Peter Graf zu Solms-Laubach (born August 28, 1929 - † October 27, 1955)
  • Ilona Countess zu Solms-Laubach (born January 15, 1931; † March 7 - 8, 2018)
  • Friedrich Ernst Graf zu Solms-Laubach (* March 24, 1932; † July 15, 2018)
  • Alexander Graf zu Solms-Laubach (born March 6, 1934)

Bernhard zu Solms-Laubach was Protestant.

Life

In the 1920s he was active as an aviator. Bernhard zu Solms-Laubach was a member of the NSDAP and from 1931 to 1933 a member of the state parliament in Hesse. After the " seizure of power " by the National Socialists, he was theater director and director. In 1933 he became artistic director at the Dessau Friedrich Theater, and in 1934 at the Berlin Volksbühne . In 1936 he was director of the theater on Nollendorfplatz in Berlin. He died by suicide .
