Bert-Ola Nordlander (born August 12, 1938 in Sundsvall ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player and coach .

Bert-Ola Nordlander began his career as an ice hockey player at Wifsta / Östrands IF , for whose professional team he was active from 1956 to 1963 in Division 1 , which was then the highest Swedish league. He then played for ten years until the end of his career for league rivals AIK Solna , where he was one of the leading players. Due to his services to the club, his jersey number 5 was banned by AIK and will no longer be given to any other player.

From 1979 to 1981 Nordlander was the head coach of Djurgårdens IF from the Elitserien .

International

For Sweden , Nordlander took part in the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley , 1964 in Innsbruck , 1968 in Grenoble and 1972 in Sapporo . At the 1964 Winter Games, he and his team won the silver medal. He was also in his country's squad at the 1962 , 1963 , 1965 , 1967 , 1969 and 1971 World Cups . At the World Championships in 1965 and 1971, he and his team won the bronze medal, and at the World Championships in 1963, 1967 and 1969 the silver medal. At the 1962 World Cup, Nordlander won the gold medal with Sweden. As the best European team, the team also became European champions.
