Bert Ehgartner

Bert Ehgartner (born October 7, 1962 in Waidhofen an der Ybbs ) is an Austrian author, journalist and filmmaker.

Life

Ehgartner studied journalism, political science and computer science in Vienna (without a degree). Since 1987 he has been working as a freelance journalist a. a. for the magazines profil , Der Standard , Süddeutsche Zeitung and Focus. From 1990 to 1996 he was editor of the weekly magazine " The whole week ", from 2000 to 2005 he was editor-in-chief of the website surfmed.de, which specializes in health topics. Bert Ehgartner is the designer of numerous documentaries as well as the author of non-fiction books.

Bert Ehgartner is married to Elisabeth Ehgartner and has five children. He lives with his family near Vienna.

• 2000: Medikinale International Munich: First prize "summa cum laude" for the TV documentary "Zecken - Vampire hautnah"
• 2001: Main prize at the 39th Techfilm International Film Festival, Prague for the TV documentary "Ticks - Vampire close up"
• 2013: Ekotopfilm Festival, Bratislava: "Main prize in category A - Popular - scientific - Science and Technology" for the documentary "Age of Aluminum"
• 2014: "Hoimar von Ditfurth Prize" for "Die Aluminum" awarded by " Deutsche Umwelthilfe " for "The best journalistic achievement". Global demonization of a chemical element.
