Stephan Guntli (born April 24, 1961 in St. Gallen ) is a Swiss television journalist , film director and documentary producer living in Germany .

Life

After graduating from the Trogen Cantonal School in Appenzell Ausserrhoden , Switzerland , Stephan Guntli moved to West Berlin in 1981 and studied philosophy at the Free University of Berlin . Subsequently, between 1984 and 1985, together with Reiner Bumke, Michael F. Huse and Horst Weidenmüller, he ran the United Video System sales label, which was originally affiliated with Café Swing, via Stud! O K7 - audiovisual communication.

On this technically high, content-wise independent platform, the group developed and produced novel hybrid forms of video art, concert recording and scene reporting as well as idiosyncratic art and music clips . Especially in artistic collaboration with Michael F. Huse , and then with John Loder in his Southern Studios in London , Stephan Guntli realized numerous projects independent of the mainstream as cameraman, editor, director and / or producer .
