Bert Hendrix (bourgeois Bert Rylski , born April 1932 in Warsaw / Poland ; † February 9, 2010 in Berlin ) was a Polish-German singer in the Schlager genre .

Life

Hendrix grew up in Poland, where he initially worked as a physical education teacher. After an accident at work, he began his career as a singer in his home country. After Hendrix had achieved a certain popularity there, socialist countries abroad also became aware of him. At the end of 1964 he made guest appearances in the capital of the GDR . After appearing in the opera café , AMIGA as well as radio and GDR television began to incorporate it into the local entertainment industry in 1965. This was followed by solo appearances in a revue at the Friedrichstadtpalast and tours between the Baltic Sea and the Ore Mountains.

Since the summer of 1965, Bert Hendrix was built into a pop star, also in a duet with Britt Kersten . Singles like It's always the same game or falling in love is not that easy drew the audience's attention to both. Hendrix was a frequent guest on GDR television. a. as a regular cast in the show Hafenbar from Rostock. After the collapse of the state, his contracts expired, as a result of which there were no commitments. He took his real name Bert Rylski again and worked for a few years for a press distributor and a gaming room. Hendrix married his wife Margrit in 1972 and lived in Berlin-Mitte until his death .
