Berthold I of Boblas
Berthold I von Boblas († 1161 before Milan ) was Bishop of Naumburg from 1154 to 1161 .
Life
Berthold comes from a noble family in northern Thuringia, who named themselves after Boblas . From 1133 to 1135 he is documented as cathedral dean in Naumburg , in 1137 he accompanied Wichmann von Seeburg as provost to the court of Konrad III. to Altenburg . After Wichmann was promoted to archbishop, he took over the bishop's seat in Naumburg and was ordained to his office before September 19, 1154. As bishop he grants salt traders from Halle duty-free in Zeitz , gives the Naumburg cathedral chapter the ferry across the Saale , the Naumburg church in 1161 eight Hufen in Plotha and takes care of the occupation issues of his church.
In 1157 he took part in the archbishop's general council in Merseburg , confirmed goods he had bought back to the Bosau monastery, a donation to Heusdorf monastery , and in 1159 settled a dispute between the chapter of the Meissen cathedral and the church in Schmölln , about some Hufen land in the Gau Daleminza.
