Bertil Roos (born October 12, 1943 in Gothenburg , † March 31, 2016 in Wilkes-Barre , Pennsylvania ) was a Swedish automobile racing driver who competed in Formula 1 , among other things .
Career
Bertil Roos began his career in the Super Vau class and won the American Super Vau title in 1973. He then drove in the Formula 2 European Championship and in the Canadian Formula Atlantic . In 1974 Roos switched to Formula 1. He drove only one Grand Prix, the Swedish Grand Prix in Anderstorp . His Shadow DN3 -Ford-Cosworth was left with a gearbox damage in the second lap.
Bertil Roos ended his active career that same year, moved to the USA and founded what is now a very successful racing driver's school, the Bertil Roos Racing School .
He later returned as a racing driver for a few years and won the CanAm series in the under 2 liter class in 1981 and 1982 .
