Bertold Jonas

Bertold Jonas (* 1922 in Güstebiese , Königsberg Nm. District ; † September 19,  2011 in Bremen ) was a German sports psychologist and university lecturer .

Life

Jonas grew up in Güstebiese in Neumark  and went to Königsberg Nm.  to school, after the Second World War he studied at the Braunschweig University of Education from 1945 , from 1946 to 1948 he was a sports officer for the Asta . After graduating, he worked as a teacher and continued his education at the German Sport University in Cologne . He then worked as an assistant at the Braunschweig and Göttingen Universities of Education and completed a second degree in psychology .

From 1962, Jonas worked as a lecturer in physical education at the University of Education in Bremen and helped found the University of Bremen in 1971. Among other things, he was decisively responsible for the implementation of the “Bremen Model” in sport. As early as 1970 he held the office of President of the Committee of German Physical Education (ADL). In 1976 Jonas was one of the founding members of the German Association for Sports Science . From 1978 onwards, Jonas was a member of the Education and Sports Science Committee of the State Sports Association (LSB) Bremen , and from 1982 to 1986 he was also the chairman of the education department of the LSB Bremen. In 1986 he was one of the co-founders of the Bremen University Sports Association, became its president and later honorary president. Until 1990 he was a professor for sport psychology at the University of Bremen. In 2006 he received the Golden Badge of Honor from the German Association for Sports Science.
