Bertram Goodhue
Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue (born April 28, 1869 in Pomfret , Connecticut , † April 23, 1924 in New York City ) was an American architect and illustrator . He is considered to be one of the most important representatives of the neo-Gothic style and the Spanish-Mexican Renaissance in the United States.
His parents were Charles Wells Goodhue and Helen (Eldredge) Grosvenor Goodhue. He moved to New York in 1884, where he worked at Renwick, Aspinwall and Russell (see also James Renwick, Jr. ). In 1897 he was a co-founder of the Boston Arts and Crafts Society. Goodhue then worked as a business partner with Ralph Adams Cram for 25 years . In 1915 he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letters .
