Location
The site of the vocational training center is located just outside the Elbe basin on Hellerhofstrasse in the north of Dresden. It is located in the district of Trachenberge and belongs to the statistical district of Hellerberge .
history
In 1896 the Saxon Krüppelheim / Maria Anna Children's Hospital (named after Princess Maria Anna) was founded on a site in the north of Dresden between forests and vineyards. At the time it was founded, the facility was at the gates of Dresden.
From the founding plan : " The Saxon Krüppelheim should include: an educational institution, [...] an employment institution, [...] a care institution. "
In 1900 the Sächsisches Krüppelheim was renamed the Sächsisches Krüppelheim, Queen Carola Foundation . The name change was the condition for a donation of 30,000 marks, which the city council of Dresden approved. In 1939 it was again renamed the Saxon Home for the Physically Disabled . The facility continued to operate from 1939 to 1945. After the end of the war in 1945, the Dresden workshops for the severely handicapped were founded and in 1962 a new name for the Rehabilitation Center for Vocational Training (RZB) Dresden was introduced. Among others, draftsmen, machinists and electrical mechanics were trained.
In November 1990, Berufsbildungswerk Sachsen GmbH was founded with the SRH Heidelberg Group as a partner. In 1996 the Diakonische Gesellschaft zur Förder der Berufsbildung gGmbH joined as a second partner.
