Bervedino

Bervedino is a white wine , which in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna is cultivated. The variety is approved in the province of Piacenza . Their cultivation is limited to the Val d'Arda , a side valley of the Po . At the beginning of the 1990s, the area under vines was a small 15 hectares .

Ampelographic varietal characteristics

In ampelography , the habitus is described as follows:

  • The shoot tip is open. It is very hairy and of a yellowish-green color. The young leaves are lightly hairy cobwebs and colored gold-green.
  • The medium-sized leaves are usually five-lobed and deeply indented (see also the article leaf shape ). The stem bay is open in a V-shape. The blade is bluntly serrated. The teeth are medium-sized compared to the grape varieties.
  • The pyramidal grape is medium-sized, shouldered and loose berries. The round berries are medium-sized and golden-yellow in color. When it is very ripe, the color changes to amber.

The vigorous Bervedino ripens approx. 30 days after the Gutedel and belongs to the grape varieties of the middle third ripening period (see the chapter in the article grape variety). Bervedino is a variety of the noble grapevine ( Vitis vinifera ).

Bervedino is also known under the synonym Bervedino Bianco.
