Bethany Firth , MBE (born February 14, 1996 ) is a Northern Irish swimmer.

The Firth , originally from Seaforde , County Down , began their sporting career in 2009. At the IPC - European Swimming Championships, she won silver in the S14 classification in 200 meters of freestyle swimming . In 2012 she competed for Ireland at the Summer Paralympics in London . She took part in the 200 meter freestyle swimming (S14), the 100 meter breaststroke (SB14) and the 100 meter back crawl (S14).

On August 31, 2012, she won the 100 meter back crawl competition in the S14 with a time of 1: 08.93 and thus achieved the first gold medal for Ireland at the Summer Paralympics in London.

She won three silver medals for Ireland at the 2013 IPC Swimming World Championships in Montreal . She then switched to the British Swimming Association. For this she took part in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow . Due to a wrist injury, she had to forego participation in the IPC Swimming World Championships , also taking place in Glasgow, in 2015 . In 2016 she took part in the Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro . On September 8, she won the 100 meter back crawl competition in the S14 with a time of 1: 04.05 and broke her own world record.
